Develop a regular mindfulness practice with this eight week introduction at Wellspring House. Sessions begin with a welcome, check in and short grounding exercise. Each week there will be an opportunity to learn more about this approach, try different exercises and find what works for you. There will be space for discussion, sharing ideas and quiet reflection. When the weather is fine, there will be the opportunity to spend some time in the garden.
The aim is to bring together a supportive and mutually respectful group that will benefit anyone seeking to live a more balanced and peaceful life. The relaxed, small group approach makes it easy to get to know other participants, make new friends and learn together. There will be handouts and sign posting to books and online resources for those interested in learning more. And you are encouraged to continue developing your mindfulness practice between sessions.
There will be a short break mid-morning and time to chat and socialise over coffee. The cost is £3 per session and this helps with the running costs of Wellspring House.
Sessions are facilitated by Karen the Centre Leader. Karen’s interest is in both the wellbeing and the more spiritual aspects of mindfulness, which she believes are interconnected. Karen took a short course on mindfulness as part of her psychotherapy training and is very interested in how practising mindfulness can help with stress and anxiety. Karen meditates regularly and has incorporated some mindfulness practices into her daily routine, which she finds beneficial.
Each session will draw on a range of resources and materials including readings and exercises from the fab Practising Mindfulness Workbook by Sasha Silverman which can be downloaded free of charge.
Sessions start at 10.00 AM with hot drinks available from 9.45 AM and end at 12.00 noon.
Session Dates: 30 April, 7 May, 14 May, 21 May, 4 June, 11 June, 18 June and 25 June.
Establishing a mindfulness practice requires regular, repetition. You will benefit most from this programme if you attend the all or most of the sessions and do some practice, even a few minutes a day is helpful, between sessions. To book or find out more please contact Karen
