Wellspring House
25 Radcliffe New Road, Radcliffe , Manchester , M26 1LE

A gentle Introduction to some of Swedenborg’s Writings and the essential teachings of the New Church over four, friendly Saturday morning sessions.

This small group programme, held in the welcoming surroundings of Wellspring House, offers you a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Swedenborg’s writings. Through participation in this spiritual development programme, you will also gain insights into some of the symbolic meaning contained in the Bible. Each short session includes prayer, reading, discussion and opportunities for questions and personal reflections.  The format is relaxed and informal. There will be time to share ideas and personal experiences and opportunity to explore the practical application of these important teachings.

The sessions are facilitated by Ray Kennion and provide an overview of New Church teachings, an opportunity for spiritual exploration and a place to connect with others.  The programme will be of interest to anyone curious to find out more about Swedenborg and the New Church regardless of faith or belief. Everyone is welcome and existing Church members who would like to gain a deeper understanding of Swedenborg’s writings are warmly encouraged to attend.

For those interested in continuing their spiritual exploration beyond this introductory programme the Swedenborg Open Learning Centre offers a number of open learning modules including an Introduction to Swedenborgian Thought.

Over four sessions the New Church 101 programme focuses on the following themes:

  • The Lord
  • The Word
  • Love and Good Will
  • Eternal Life

The workbook to accompany this small group programme may be downloaded here free of charge. The workbook contains the readings and discussion points for each session.  All sessions take place from 10.00 AM to 12 noon on Saturday 23 February, 30 March, 27 April and 18 May.

There is a small charge of  £3 per session which includes hot drinks and biscuits.
